It’s all go as our big race day draws near

Organisers of the St Pat’s races meeting are pulling out all the stops with only six weeks to race day.

Preparations for March 17 are gaining momentum with 2000 brochures and 1400 members packs being sent out yesterday.

Club secretary manager, Cheryl Krutli, said the packs travel to all corners of the globe, including Qatar and Canada.

“It’s all go at the office and everything’s available for sale,” Mrs Krutli told the BDT.

“Some of the posters have already been mailed out to all states and a few overseas to New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates.”

This year’s brochure, awash with an emerald green colour to mark the race day falling on St Patrick’s Day, features the poster by artist Howard Steer.

Posters for the much-hyped new Green Room Party Tent have also been released.

“There’s increased interest in our Green Room, especially with online bookings.”

A handful of booking had been made through the office and a dozen online, Mrs Krulti said.

Bookings for the pavilion have also been steady, helping with any last minute nerves Mrs Krutli might have developed.

“At this time, I commonly have a small sense of anxiety that we can’t pull it all off.

“Then I look at all my lists written on the white board and that reassures me it can happen.”
