GOOD RACING: The horses take to the track again tonight.

By The Pack Horse

Tonight’s racing will be dominated by the fairer sex, either by drivers or horses.

Another good program of racing will launch the beginning of the second half of the season with plenty of good racing to come in the Maltese Cup, Sew Eurodrive Mile and our TAB meeting on March 16.

Programming has been finalised for this and copies will be available at the secretary’s office or by contacting Tony Camilleri. Hope to see you all on track tonight and happy punting.

RACE 1. GRA ENGINEERING PACE

A little dejavu with Lombo Carolina and Dakota Rose going head to head again here. The five front line runners all posses gate speed with the front keenly sought after over the mile. Lombo Carolina should be able to hold up from the pole position to lead and be the one to beat from Dakota Rose who will not shy away from doing the hard yards outside the leader. Dasmar should gain a nice run behind the speed.

RACE 2. DEMOCRATIC CLUB PACE

Two Victorian visitors and four locals meet over the 1900 metres with victory to be hard fought. After looking over the runners I have settled on Autographed from the second line who will be given a good trip by reinsman Shane Smith and will be finish fast late. Farewell Hanover after her win on debut here a week ago should finish second. My third selection is All Charged Up for our visitors.

RACE 3. MULGA HILL TAVERN PACE

Marred by the scratching of the pole runner in Just Keep Safe the race shapes up as a repeat of last week’s fast class event with honours to go the way to either Rockets Revenge or Shay Shay Shania. With Rockets Revenge the leader Paul Evans will try to rate his charge to his liking. Some of the other favoured runners have to do some work at some stage to put themselves into the race.

I have settled on Shay Shay Shania to win as she does no know how to run a bad race and will do everything in her power to please her driver Ashleigh Camilleri. Rockets Revenge should not be treated lightly in this grade from Passing Shadows for third.

RACE 4. BH CARAVAN & TRAILER CENTRE PACE

A trifecta to the mares in this race. My selections are all going really well and will win a C Class race in the near future. I struggled to separate these three so I suggest a box trifecta 2,4,6: Beau Ceil, Wallys Daughter & Montana Madge.

RACE 5. TASCO INLAND PACE

The night ends with the hardest race to pick. Numerous horses are bursting to win. My selection for first is Ivanovic from the first line which will see her in front or close by enabling Razz Slater to control the race. Second to Utwo Loo and Cassie Robinson continuing their good form. FOr third ex-local Geoff Tefler and Ebony Girl from the pole position.

A great night’s harness racing is on offer and all the regular amenities will be available. Hope to see you all trackside.
