The RSPCA has a range of animals, to suit all sorts of people, that are looking for a home.

RSPCA attendants Elaine Colbeck and Cheryl Backhouse are encouraging locals looking for a pet to visit the local RSPCA shelter.

"We have two Maltese dogs; one named Mufasa and the other Kimba," Ms Colbeck said.

"They are both 11 year old males. They have been desexed microchipped and vaccinated. They are $100 each to adopt."

Ms Colbeck said the dogs came from the same home and are seniors at the RSPCA. "They are both lovely little dogs, they would be suited to anyone. Both dogs have nice playful personalities," she said.

She stressed, however, they were the sort of dogs that needed regular grooming.

"They need clipping, at least twice a year and grooming on a regular basis," Ms Colbeck said.

Another dog in need of a home is an energetic terrier cross.

"Sparky is a twoyear- old male, who is desexed," Ms Colbeck said.

"He is a lot more playful and energetic than the Maltese dogs."

She said Sparky would be suited to a younger family who has lots of time to exercise him.

"He doesn't need much grooming but he must be taken for regular walks," Ms Colbeck said.

"He is $250 to adopt and this includes micro chipping, worming, desexing and vaccination."

For those who aren't dog lovers, the RSPCA also have a three month old female kitten.

Her name is Dottie and she is $165 to adopt.
