There will be plenty of sweet treats and pretty things for mum at this year’s Mothers’ Day Stall, and some new items available for the first time.

The ever popular homemade quondong pies and jams will be available, and this year there will also be an assortment of chutneys, jams, pickles and relishes.

“There’s a lot of homemade goodies, we’ll have the homemade pasties as well for Mothers’ Day,” Cake Decorators’ Association publicity officer Vicki Sladden said.

“They’re more seasonal, we don’t have them in summer because it’s too hot to cook them,” she said.

“For the first time at the Christmas stall we had doll’s clothes, and they just went straight away so we’ll have them again.

“There’s a big variety in all the things that we’ve got.”

The stall will be set up in the Town Hall Facade on Argent Street, and will open from 9am until 5pm this Monday.

It will be open at those times every day until Saturday April 29, when it will open from 9am until noon.

As well as items and goodies created by the Cake Decorators, friends have crafted patchwork, glassware, jewellery, pottery and leadlight, and items from the Centennial Nursing Home will be available for purchase as well.
