Broken Hill's horse trainers may have walked away from the Silver City Races without a win, but there were a couple of local racegoers who were all smiles.

Keen punter Cayle Sawyers now has $1000 to bet with courtesy of on-line gaming company bookmaker.com.au after being drawn as the winner of the Silver City Cup members' competition, while Amanda Murray will enjoy dinner for two at Trentham Estate Winery.

Mr Sawyers said it was great to win.

Jockey Chenelle Ellis stole the show at Saturday's Silver City Cup, riding her first winner and then following it up with a win in the 1600 metre feature event to claim a double in just her third ever race meeting.

Ms Ellis' day began with a sixth placing in the Maiden Plate aboard the Allan Jarvis-trained Run for Cash before breaking through in race five on Bullydozer.

The Silver City Racing Club is thrilled with the attendance at its cup meeting on Saturday.

President of the club, Dave Gallagher, said he was "very, very impressed with the day" and the crowd that was one of the best in years.

The fields for the Silver City Cup have been confirmed after acceptances closed yesterday morning and 40 horses are primed to take part in the six-race meeting tomorrow.

The main event, the Silver City Cup, is set down for 5:00pm as the final race of the day.

The Silver City Cup Committee has finalised its $50,000 race program, as the countdown continues towards the event on Saturday, October 27.

In recognition of the union support for the Barrier Industrial Council (BIC)-Peter Anthony Memorial Handicap, the official Naming Ballot draw was conducted at the Trades Hall where Flat Out Tyres, Lawrence Engineering and De Franceschi and Sons Builders were revealed as new race name sponsors.

Registered clubs the Demo, Legion, Musicians', Sturt and Workies are again sponsoring the feature event, the Silver City Cup (1600m), which
this year carries record prize money of $15,000.
