For much of the 1980s, South Australian fast bowler Sam Parkinson was terrorising batsmen right around Australia.

On Saturday he had the ball in hand again, this time at Cawkers Well as part of the Fellowship of Cricket- Loving Rotarians match.

As one onlooker at Cawkers Well on the weekend put it; the Rotary Cricket Fellowship event was quintessentially Australian: mates, a few beers and all over a relaxed game of cricket in the bush.

Around 180 people descended on the cattle station for the event, with the majority camping there over the weekend.

Two cricketers from New Zealand have joined the steady stream of Rotarians coming through Broken Hill on their way to Cawkers Well for this weekend's cricket matches.

John Dean from Wellington and Gary Masters from Christchurch will join cricketers from India and every state and territory in Australia at the station.

Jarred Paull put on a batting master class on the weekend, scoring 164 not out, to take his season average to a remarkable 290.

The weekend's score follows a score of 39 in the season opening Twenty20 match against West, as well as knocks of 41 not out and 46 not out against North and West more recently.

In a highly entertaining game at the Jubilee Oval, Central have walked away with the points, with a polished three wicket win over a gallant North outfit.

With North batting first and compiling 181 runs, Central were able to chase them down in the 41st over for the loss of 7 wickets.
