South have celebrated Phil Neal's 350th league game and Jordan Staker's 100th match, with a 67 point victory against West at the Alma Oval on Saturday Neal spent much of his milestone day in the forward line and kicked three goals in South's 19.17 (131) to 10.4 (64) victory.

The first half did not quite go to script for the Roos, but a 12 goal to two second half gave South their eighth consecutive win and tightened their grip on the Minor Premiership.

In what will be a special day for South, Jordan Staker is also set to play his 100th league game in the match against West at the Alma Oval on Saturday.

A state sporting body has been helping to establish Women's AFL in Broken Hill by investing almost $5000 in the city.

AFL NSW/ACT has been investing both in training sessions and in financial assistance for the women's football competition.

In March, AFL NSW Female Football Manager Libby Sadler visited Broken Hill to run skills sessions in the high schools and also
ran a combined senior training and information session.

South appear to have seized the minor premiership and direct Grand Final qualification following their 27 point win over the second placed North at Alma Oval on Saturday.

The Roos have moved two games clear of the Bulldogs and with just five matches left in the home and away season, North's top spot
opportunity appears to have passed.

South dominated the contest after quarter time, with only two late goals from the Bulldogs conserving some credibility on the scoreboard.
