Hundreds of youngsters decked out in their footy gear packed the Sanderson Stadium to sign on with their club for the 2012 season.
There were a variety of activities and games, the most popular of which was an inflatable mattress complete with goal posts and a dummy for kids to take “screamers” over.

ROLE MODEL: Former South junior Tom Derham is a prime example of what can be achieved through sport.
Radical changes are being formulated to try and rescue the future of junior cricket in Broken Hill.
With two of the city’s biggest residential areas - North and South BH - unable to field Under-16 sides this season, cricket officials believe they must act quickly to salvage the future of cricket.

“Other interests, lack of parental participation and support, junior players with part-time work commitments outside of school hours ... there are a host of reasons that have contributed to the current situation.

“This hasn’t been possible in the past due to the large numbers of games being played,” Primary Cricket Association President Dale Dwyer explained.

Two young golfers have claimed back-to-back wins in the Junior Golf Championships.
Phoebe Lane showed her prowess with the putter and played some very classy strokes to card just 19 over the three holes and in the process won herself promotion next year.
Luke Hall also claimed the double but had to produce his best at the end of the year to keep the field at bay.
