Willyama High School SRC is hosting a Used Book Sale this weekend to ensure all the library’s old books don’t go to waste.

The school is redeveloping its library, turning it into somewhat of a research centre.

“The books would’ve been thrown out otherwise, so we figured we may as well sell them, make some money for the school,” said SRC Advisor, Jon Carrett.

“Students coming into the library to get books for their study is almost a thing of the past, so it’s becoming a bit more of a technology-based research space,” he said.

The books are being sold for just $1 each, and all money raised will go to the  SRC so that they can reinvest it back into the school.

As well as the book sale there will be a barbecue selling bacon and egg rolls, and a tea and coffee stand. The Broken Hill Sea Scouts will also be manning a donut stand.
