Broken Hill will be well represented in Mildura next weekend when 26 youngsters will play at the Mildura Spring Netball Carnival.

Three local teams be playing about 20 games each in the under 13s, 15s and 17s age groups. The carnival is being held over two days on the weekend of September 21 and 22.

For selection the BH Netball Association called for expressions of interest, and President Paree Cadd said they had the perfect number of nominations.

“We didn’t have to seek out players but we also didn’t have to hold trials for selections into the teams,” said Ms Cadd.

She said it was the biggest contingent the association had sent to the carnival in recent years.

“These girls will be fine ambassadors of the Broken Hill Netball Association and the wider Broken Hill community “They’re all very excited for a big few days of netball.”

Although the competition is quite tough at these carnivals, Ms Cadd said the local girls would do the city proud with their determination and spirit.

She also thanked local umpire Tori McManus who volunteered to go with the teams.
