The BDT’s second Christmas collection appeal for women in need is open.

Called ‘It’s in the Bag’, it will provide pads and tampons, personal hygiene products and everyday luxuries to homeless women, women at risk or those suffering domestic violence.

It’s a simple way to make someone’s Christmas.

To donate, first choose a handbag in good condition that you no longer use and fill it with items that would make a woman feel special. Then pop in a thoughtful note or Christmas card.

Next time you’re at the shops, collect a few items for your Christmas handbag.

No matter how you celebrate Christmas with your family, this will be the most meaningful and appreciated gift you give this year.

BDT Advertising Manager Samantha Ragenovich said, with the success of the last Share the Dignity drive, she thought it would be a great idea to run the ‘It’s in the Bag’ campaign.

People can donate their bags with toiletries to the BDT from now until Saturday, December 7.

You may create a ‘Teen Bag’, ‘Woman’s Bag’ and a ‘Nappy Bag’, and items can include shampoo and conditioner, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, wipes, sanitary items and even some chapstick.
