The first stage of the Musicians Club’s improvements has started with new carpet installed in the Twilight and Ivory function rooms.

It’s been over two decades since new carpet was put in the club and General Manager Michael Boland is happy with the results.

“The last time the club got new carpet was in 1997, we have a heap more improvements in the works.

“There will be a few minor disruptions but please bear with us as we make the Musicians Club number one again.”

From Tuesday, January 7, the Bistro will be closed. It will reopen for dinner on Friday, January 10.

Michael said the function rooms were carpeted in about five days.

“It was done pretty quickly, they were finished within the week.

“We’re using local contractors and local businesses to source everything.”

The next addition will be modern vinyl tiles through the administration and front entrance.

“It’s quite a large club with multiple entrances, so it will be completed in sections.

“One day you will come in and have to turn left and the next day you will have to turn right.

“We’re lucky to have a good-sized entrance.”

Michael said the next big section would be the main bar.

“That section will take three to four weeks,” he said.

“It will be conducted in certain sections.

“We expect to have it all completed by the start of March.

“Then we will get our new furniture in from early April and onwards.”
