The bass player of Broken Hill’s most popular band The Figs has been robbed of his brand new bass guitar.
Musician Con Prentos went away with his family on January 2, only to find his home had been robbed on his return Tuesday night.
Mr Prentos said he called up local police Tuesday night, with a follow up investigation being conducted last night.
“So they’re coming tonight to go over the house and take fingerprints and whatever off the windows and take a statement at 7pm tonight,” Mr Prentos said.
Mr Prentos only had his Musicman Stingray 5 string bass guitar and his Mesa D800 Amp Head for a couple of months.
“They’re brand new, I’ve only had two gigs with it,” Mr Prentos said.
Also stolen included household items such as a three men’s watches, a 1TB PS4 Pro console and a predator gaming monitor, headset, mouse and keyboard.
Mr Prentos said his family is still unsure as to what else the thief or thieves stole.
Overall, the show will go on for Mr Prentos who has other bass guitars he can use at future gigs with The Figs.
“Ideally, the one that went missing is the one I want to use, but I have got backups,” Mr Prentos said.
“They’ve just taken this one particular guitar and one particular bloody amp because it’s easy to carry.”
The bass bears a unique grey, glittery paintjob and a big black scratch plate of the body of the bass guitar.
“It stands out.”
