Rumours have been flying about the lack of water in Copi Hollow, which are all untrue, according to the Copi Hollow Caravan Park manager.
The Park’s manager, Amanda Wood, said there is no issue with the water in Copi Hollow at this stage.
“The water board comes out and gets samples and tests the water on a weekly basis,” she said.
“We would be the first to know if something was wrong as we shower out of that water.”
Some people have still been hanging out at Copi Hollow and utilising the water for a fun day in the sun.
“Over the Christmas and New Year period we had about 15 boats here for the 10-day period, so about 150 people were here swimming, tubing and out on their boats,” said Amanda.
When asked how long the body of will water will be open for Amanda’s response was: “How long is a piece of string?”
“As long as the water quality is fine people can still use it (Copi Hollow) and once the quality deteriorates we will put recreational restrictions in place.
“We are getting constant phone calls and there is so much gossip locally, around Broken Hill about us having no water ... but we just want to let people know that we’re still open and operating, and we do have water,” said Amanda.
Everyone is encouraged to head back to the old hang out that is Copi Hollow and make the most of the water throughout the warm summer days.
