BH Basketball recently sent 16 players to Gawler to try out for the Australian Country Championships and 10 of them made the cut.
The 10 players and one reserve will play for South Australia at the championships being held in Albury and Port Macquarie for the championships in January.
BH Basketball Association president Grahame Semmens said the city can be "extremely proud" of all the players who attended the training sessions.
Mr Semmens said training squads had more than of 50 players, and both the U/16 boys and girls had large squads. "This is a great result for Broken Hill Basketball," he said.
Mr Semmens also acknowledged the players who didn't make the cut, saying they did Broken Hill and themselves proud.
Andrew Donnelly, Ethan Smith, Isaac Cummings, Kobie Mutch and Connor Ellis were selected in the SA Under 14 boys' side, and Whitney Smith was picked for the Under 14 girls' side.
Keenan Ellis made the Under 16 boys' side and Heath Harris the Under 18s. Maddison O'Dwyer made reserve for Under 16 girls.
Sam Simmons was chosen in the U/15 squad, and Maddie Hoystead was appointed captain of the U/17 squad, and both will travel to Port Macquarie for their matches.
