Hayden Zammit and his Christmas display help kids with cancer Hayden Zammit and his Christmas display help kids with cancer

People are being asked to dig deep for young cancer sufferers by making a donation at a local Christmas lights display.

For the past four or five years teenager Hayden Zammit has supported Camp Quality through donations to his display at 6 Brooks Street.

This year's display features Santa and a few reindeer, an inflatable Santa, a Christmas tree, Christmas merrygo- round and an array of lights.

Hayden said it raised about $1000 each year. The busiest time for Hayden is Christmas Eve, but he was yesterday hoping for plenty of support before then.

Some local businesses have given him support to get the display up and running. According to Hayden, support from the public will enable many children to attend Camp Quality.

"Camp Quality is an organisation established for kids with cancer, their parents and siblings. They can go to camp to spend time with other people in similar situations and not talk about their disease, but talk about moving forward," he said.

He encouraged everyone to visit and make a donation.

The appeal started last night and will run until Christmas. The lights will be on from 6pm to midnight.
