Adelaide Lightning coaching clinics

Tuesday, 21st December, 2010

Three Adelaide Lightning Basketball Club players will be in the city today for a series of coaching clinics.

Local Titan and Charger team organisers last week confirmed that WNBL player Caroline Burgess would be here for the clinics, but a spokesman said yesterday that two of her teammates would also attend.

The two players are Lightning import Augustina Zygaite, a 192cm centre who hails from Lithuania, and 191cm centre and power forward DeMya Walker from the USA.

Walker played for Sacramento Monarchs in the WNBA (USA) in their championship winning year of 2005.

The combined experience of these three international players makes this a rare experience for local juniors and the clinics will greatly benefit the development of basketball in the city, the spokesman said.

All Titan and Charger junior players are asked to attend the clinic at 10am.

All association players who have registered at LETS Employment are asked to attend the following clinics: Under 10 and Under 12 boys and girls clinic will start at 11am and Under 14 and Under 16 boys and girls clinics will start at 1.30pm.
