Party time in the Hill

Get ready for a great New Year’s eve as pubs and clubs put on entertainment to ring in the new year.
The Democratic Club is preparing for a wet and crazy night at its Foam Party.
General Manager, Karren Howe, said it was a concept designed by Hill FM which she thought sounded like fun. “We decided to run with it as well, it’s a bit of fun for New Year’s eve. It’s something different,” Mrs Howe said.
The party starts at 10.30pm but no one will be allowed into the club after midnight.
“People better get in early,” Mrs Howe said. “Be prepared to get a bit wet.” She also said there will be a Hawaiian theme and lots of prizes.
DJs and bands will play and Mrs Howe said the club was expecting about 500 people to attend. Other venues providing New Year’s entertainment include the Musicians’ Club, who will feature Chrissy Murphy and Highway 32.
The Haven Restaurant and Club Legion are offering dinner, and Club Legion will also have the band “Dazed and Confused”.
For people looking for dinner and a dance, the Astra will be open until 2am and will having DJ Johnny Beatz spinning the discs.
The Southern Cross which will have four rooms open - the main bar, the bistro which will host DJ Jamie, a white room featuring a Top 40 DJ with a laser light show, and the balcony room for people wishing to relax with free massages by a qualified masseuse.
And if you want to step back in time then the South Hotel is the place for you. It is presenting a Seventies and Eighties night.
