Landmark Broken Hill’s new office is starting to take shape. Construction of the building, located on the corner of Rakow Street and Brookfield Avenue, beganin August after months of earthworks.
Regional Manager, Michael Fernandez, said Landmark was very proud of the structure, which he said would be especially welcomed by the staff now working at the outdated Blende Street office.
“This is also a big commitment from us that we’ll be here for the long term,” he said.
“Given what our client base, who are mostly pastoral graziers, have been through over the last ten years, that’s important. Things are looking up now,” he said.
Local Merchandise Manager Peter Heath said the building was expected to be completed by the end of March or in early April.
That’s a little behind schedule, as wet weather had delayed the pouring of concrete.
The framework is up and the roof is on, with finishing work now being done on internal offices.
Concrete flooring is complete and the next job is for electrics and plumping to be installed.
The new office includes space for merchandise, offices, meeting rooms and storage. The current Blende Street office lacks a back yard, so merchandise is kept at a different location.
Landmark’s new home will bring everything on to the same site.
