The RSPCA is overflowing with animals that need a home.

Local shelter manager, Merridy Wall, is encouraging locals to adopt surrendered pets.

The RSPCA has lots of adult dogs and some pups in all “shapes and sizes”, according to Ms Wall.

“We’ve got some really nice dogs at the moment for all types of families,” she said.

The RSPCA also has wolf hound-cross and mastiff-cross dogs available for adoption.

“They are nice natured dogs for a person with plenty of time, plenty of exercise, training and lots of space,” Ms Wall said.

It costs $280 to adopt a dog at the age of one or under and $250 to adopt a dog over a year old.

This includes desexing, micro-chipping, vaccination and worming.

Ms Wall also said any dogs over six months had a behavioral assessment and were checked by a vet.
