Thigh bone male
Friday, 14th January, 2011
A human thigh bone found at Menindee belonged to a man, police said yesterday.
Although original examinations suggested that the bone was from someone who had been dead for no more than 10 years, police now believe the time frame for death may be closer to one to six years.
A fisherman found the femur in the Little Menindee Creek Regulator on Tuesday, December 28.
Barrier Local Area Command detectives are conducting further searches in the area and inquiries about people reported missing.
They are urging anyone with information to contact them on Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
