The generosity of locals continues unabated with another two events being held to raise money for the Queensland Floods Relief Appeal.

The first is a concert that will be held in Sturt Park on Saturday at 4.30pm.

The organisers, Scott Murphy, Chrissie Murphy, Paul Kemp and Carrie Oakley, have enlisted the help of bands including Rustic, Allan Pearce, Highway 32, Plan B and Jeff Hall.

The comperes will be Travis Keyser, Carrie Oakley, John Groenendijk, Laurie White and Damien Fisher.

Chrissie Murphy said more performers may be announced before the event.

Community groups will also put on a barbecue and soft drinks will be available but no alcohol will be allowed in the park.

"We are planning on getting a jumping castle," organiser Carrie Oakley said, "along with fairy floss and donuts."

Any donations of money would be most welcome, said Ms Murphy, because they were hoping to raise as much as they can.

"Is is definitely going for a good cause and they need the money now."

Mrs Oakley said her first idea for a fundraiser was with Hungry Jack's and a car rally.

"With the roads the way they are, (a car rally) was not a good idea," she said.

"At the same time Chrissie came up with the idea for a concert, so I decided to support her with that."

Mrs Oakley said Hungry Jack's will still be donating $1 from every Whopper Burger sold.

She said collectors for the fundraiser can be identified by a badge that says "Broken Hill Flood Relief Concert".

On Sunday, the West Football Club will be doing its bit to help flood victims rebuild their lives.

The day will start about noon with a barbecue lunch for $10. Soft drinks will be available with all profits going to the flood appeal.

Netball and cricket clubs will be involved in the day, and the organisers are inviting anyone else involved in sport to come along and help.

They are also calling on businesses to donate money, or items that can be used for a raffle or auction. ( Phone Sarah on 0413 232 661 or Peter on 0410 486 491).
