What will we do with this old building?
Tuesday, 1st February, 2011
The public is being asked for its ideas about the future of the old public toilets in Sturt Park.
The toilets were replaced by a new facility which was built and opened before Christmas.
Mayor Wincen Cuy said the old toilet block had been identified by Council as a dark spot for people to congregate.
Council's management has recommended that the old block be demolished and the area reverted to turf.
Now a 28-day public consultation period has begun.
Mayor Cuy said Council wanted to maintain the popular mural painted by Clark Barrett on walls of the block.
He said Council was keen to hear ideas from the public on how that could be done.
