Preparing for back to school
Wednesday, 2nd February, 2011
It's almost back to school time, and time for parents to help prepare their kids for the year ahead.
The State Government is offering back to school advice on a "hotline", but Broken Hill High School's Principal Geoff Webb said parents were just as welcome to phone the school.
"If parents have any concerns they can ring the hotline but they're better off calling us," Mr Webb said.
He said he understands that starting high school can be "a big, brave new world" for the year sevens.
"I know a lot of parents find it difficult to let go, but they can rest assured we will take care of their kids," Mr Webb said.
"If parents have any concerns or any worries, give us a call."
At the high school, years seven, 11 and 12 start on Monday, and years 8, 9 and 10 on Tuesday.
The BH High School office and uniform shop is open this week and inquiries may be made on 8088 1522
The government's back to school hotline is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
