Car break-ins prompt warning
Tuesday, 8th February, 2011
Locals are being reminded again to lock their vehicles at all times, following a spate of thefts from cars.
All of the vehicles were left parked and unattended, according to police, who said entry was gained through windows or forced doors.
Money and other valuables were taken from the cars which were parked in Blende and Buck streets, Gaffney Lane and Williams Lane.
Police said locals should, where possible, park their vehicle off the street and keep all valuables out of sight to make it harder for opportunistic thieves to cause damage and steal valuables.
Anyone with any information about the break-ins are asked to contact police on 8087 0299.
Meanwhile, a driver and his two passengers were flown to hospital after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned near White Cliffs on Sunday.
The crash happened about 5pm on the Wanaaring Road, said police.
The 25-year-old man driving the car and two 21-year-old female passengers were all conveyed to Broken Hill hospital by the RFDS for treatment and observation.
A blood sample was taken from the driver and inquiries are continuing, police said.
