Thieves abroad, police warn

Friday, 11th February, 2011

Police said a number of items were stolen from the car yard after thieves forced their way in through a door.

Nothing appeared to be taken from the second business, according to police, who said the would-be thieves broke in through a window.

They said inquiries were continuing into the break-ins and anyone with information should contact them.

"These offences predominantly appear to be happing during the evening and no doubt there would be residents who would hear or see something that may be suspicious, whether that be people moving around in groups or individuals on their own," said Detective Inspector Mick Stoltenberg.

He urged anyone with information about any of these offences to notify police.

"Any information given to police can and will be treated with the utmost of confidentiality if that is what the person wishes to happen."

Det. Inspt. Stoltenberg said it appeared that thieves were mainly after cash.
