Railwaytown Public School held its swimming carnival yesterday and a good day was had by all.

Carnival organisers, Jane Vaughan and Andree Hannigan, said it could not have gone better.

"It has been beautiful, the kids had a good time and lots of children participated," said Ms Vaughan.

She said the whole school was there and lots of parents also came along to lend a hand.

All the children got involved in the races, including some who were members of swimming clubs and others who were swimming for fun.

All the records broken yesterday were by one swimmer, Jesse Cochrane-Adolfson.

Jesse broke the individual medley, finishing in 3.18 minutes, the 50 metre freestyle, 50m breaststroke, and 50m butterfly.

"The great float race was enjoyed by everyone and was a fun way to end another fantastic swimming carnival," said Ms Vaughan.

Murray house won the carnival, beating Darling by 14 points on a fine 22 degree day during which a sausage sizzle was held and a cake stall fundraiser for the Year 5/6 excursion.
