The Harness Racing season comes to the end tonight with the running of the Club Legion Cup.

All support races are named in honour of the past presidents of the club.

The meeting starts earlier of 7pm to enable patrons to attend the St Pat's games evening ory spent some extra time at the track.

The bar will remain open until midnight with music by DJ Dennis. Thanks to 2BH, we will be broadcasting live from the course, with the trotting show also on earlier from 11:45 to 12:30.

Ex-local and prominent Melbourne business man from Carbine Chemicals, Ray (Rocky) Baker has come on board again with 10 bicycles to give away to local children.

Each child will be given a ticket on admission which they will fill out and place in the box by the stewards' cage. Five lucky boys and five girls will have a new bike before the end of the night.

Rocky and The Harness Racing Club have also arranged for tickets from the Greyhound meeting last night to be allowed into the bike draw but to win you must be at the course.

RACE 1: G. D. Purdies Past Presidents Pace, 2210 metres. Six pacers with 2 to 6 wins will face off. Most of the front line have gate speed and like to race to the front. I have settled on Rockets Revenge to kick off a good night for the Evans' stable, from Our Shakin Chance and third Merindah Rox.

RACE 2: J. Broomhall Past Presidents Pace. Division one of our fast class events over 2500 metres. Just Watch Me, Passing Shadows and Sweet Irene have all been clashing on the track recently with mixed results. Tonight is no different bar the barrier draw.

First place I see going to Passing Shadows for Rob Wayman from the consistent Just Watch Me with Sweet Irene filling third place.

RACE 3: Club Legion Pacing Cup. Seven of the best preformed horses in the 2-6 winning class clash for the honours. Just Keep Safe showed an impressive effort in his heat he is the one to beat, even from the five gate. The placings could come from anywhere; Take A Gamble, Aussie Falcon, Green Pepper all have chances and OK Whose Next is running back into some form. First Just Keep Safe, second Green Pepper, third Aussie Falcon.

RACE 4 A. G. Reeks Past Presidents Pace. The second division of the fast class pacers over the staying test of 2500 metres. Doranelly from her trailing draw should prove hard to hold out over the concluding stages from Trusty Laag, second, and third to Last Communication. Also look for fast finishers in Shay Shay Shania and Game Example.

RACE 5: Billy Graham Club Legion President Pace. This race is named in honour of a true horseman, either in the cart or on their backs. Billy had many a winner as a driver and a jockey.

Mick The Butcher gains my support to finally break through tonight to register a win from Beau Ceil second, and third Elspirit.
