BH Ladies Probus Club report
Thursday, 7th April, 2011
President Joy Welsh opened the meeting and welcomed members and fellow officers.
We welcomed Sally Friend as a member and she was inducted and given her badge and certificate. We hope she will have many happy years with us. We then sang the Probus Song.
Joy opened the AGM and all the usual presentations took place. Mary Wilson was elected President and Joy Welsh secretary. Cecily Files remains treasurer.
We still have some positions vacant and I encourage members to step up and take the positions of Tour Director and her assistant. Our club can't function without willing helpers. Many of our ladies are taking dual positions and I thank them for standing for executive positions.
We have three executive members for the kitchen and members will help on a roster system. List is available at meetings. Mary would like to thank our members for their support in the three years I have been secretary. Special thanks to Rae.
In the absence of Marj, Mary Wilson read two jokes "The Best Ever Senior Citizens" and "Good Parenting Lives" They brought much laughter from the members. I have printed one of them on the back of the newssheet.
Members have not shown much interest in putting their names down for the trip to Barmera in October. Many of our ladies are going on the Men's Probus trip to Dubbo. We have been invited by our sister club to join them in their bus so if you wish to go please contact Ina as soon as possible.
We welcomed back Phyllis Meatheringham, June Jarvis and Shirley Burgess. We hope that Carolyn Kemp and Ethel Ritter will be back with us soon. Please let Dot Dwyer know if you know of any of our members who are sick.
Ladies, if you are unable to attend the meeting please send in or ring with your apology. This is a Probus rule. There were quite a few members absent from each meeting who do not put in an apology.
Dates for this month:
Lunch at the airport 11/4, $15, 12noon. Please let Rae know if you wish to attend.
