Have you ever taken your kids to the theatre? Live theatre, that is.
In a metropolitan city a live show often costs around $100 a seat, but in Broken Hill you can see excellent live theatre for about $10.
After the success of Annie, Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz, Cinderella and Seussical, the Repertory Society's Marilyn Harris has decided this year to present something different, but even more spectacular.
"Animation Sensation" will be shown at Theatre 44 this Saturday and Sunday and again on the following weekend.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy the collection of songs and dances from animated movies such as Little Mermaid, Anastasia, Sleeping Beauty, Shrek, The
Princess and the Frog, and even the more recent Tangled.
All songs are beautifully costumed and the audience will be especially impressed with the animals in Lion King, made by Kellie Molloy and Joanne McCarron.
The lovely backdrops have been created by artists Bonita Swart and Noella Jones.
"About 30 kids have been rehearsing for the past couple of months to present this show, and all are enthusiastic about the outcome," Ms Harris said.
"Sunday is Mothers Day, and this would be a lovely opportunity for you to bring mum to watch the show and enjoy a lovely afternoon tea at the canteen.
"All mothers will receive a gift on that day."
Tickets can be purchased at the door or booked at Broken Hill Music. Prices are Adults $10, Concession $8, Schoolchildren $5.
Performances begin at 7.30pm on both Saturdays, with the Sunday performances beginning at 2pm.
Special rates for group bookings can be obtained from Ms Harris on 8087 9585.
