One young local has been dancing her way across New South Wales and into Queensland, competing in eisteddfods all along the way.

Six-year-old Taeja Edwards recently travelled to Gulgong, the Illawarra and the Sunshine Coast. During her trip she has been performing three dance tourines a classical dance, a lyrical dance and a jazz number.

In Gulgong, Taeja won all three events and was awarded the prize for the dancer with the most potential, said her mother, Le'Neta.

In Illawarra, Taeja received two honourable mentions in her sections where she competed against between 15 and 30 others.

Taeja came second and third and received an honourable mention in the Sunshine Coast eisteddfod.

She said her favourite place on the whole trip was the Illawarra because she "stayed near the beach".

Taeja also said she liked performing in front of audiences.

Le'Neta said her daughter had made lots of friends during her trip.

Taeja will soon be competing in eisteddfods in Mildura, Broken Hill and Adelaide as well.
