Good cause a real treat

Locals were enjoying lots of quality homemade goodies yesterday with their morning tea.
Homemade cakes, slices, cream puffs, biscuits, quiches and a barbecue were all available during the Cancer Council's fundraiser, Australia's Biggest Morning Tea.
Aruma Lodge held a barbecue for its residents, followed by dessert, and Recreational Activities Officer Tina Marks said it went over a treat.
She said family members were invited to "come sit and have lunch and some cakes after lunch".
Mrs Marks said they were hoping to raise more than $400, which would take the total amount of donations raised over the years to $6,000.
Some Big W employees also got in on the act by making cakes and savouries for a stall at Centro Plaza.
Employee Chris Smith said hosting a Biggest Morning Tea was "all for a good cause".
Mrs Smith said she had been up since 5am cooking. A couple of other ladies who normally helped were on holidays so there wasn't as many cakes as last year.
"I do it because it is a good cause," Mrs Smith said. "I think you don't know when you might use the (cancer treatment) facilities. You hope you don't have to."
