Junior stars claim title

Broken Hill junior football has received a boost with an Under 13 combined side winning the Sunraysia Junior Football Association's interleague carnival on the weekend.
The team won two of its three games to finish two points clear of second-placed Central Murray at the carnival which was held in Red Cliffs on Sunday.
At the conclusion of the round-robin event, Broken Hill had scored 14 points to Central Murray's 12, Sunraysia's 10 and Riverland 0.
Organisers were left somewhat embarrassed when a points miscalculation resulted in Central Murray initially being declared the winners of the grade. The error was eventually rectified.
In their first game Broken Hill defeated Central Murray by 10 goals before taking on Riverland immediately after and winning that game by three goals.
After a one hour break, the team played Sunraysia and at the half time break were leading by six goals to three.
"Some of our boys started to cramp and showed signs of tiredness but to their credit they fought out to the end but Sunraysia won by seven points," said coach Terry Mutch.
"It was a great team effort overall where everyone contributed on the day."
Best players overall were Jayden White, Kobe Mutch, Lachlan Harvey, Issac Cummings, Tom Ragenovich and Angus Schindler.
