Rugby teams from the Outback and Sunraysia leagues will face off in Menindee tomorrow as clubs strive to be crowned the best team in the region.

The games are a continuation of the Club Championships between the two leagues which began with a series of games in Sunraysia last weekend.

Tomorrow’s round robin format will see clashes between Mildura Tigers, Robinvale Storm, Chaffey Titans and Dareton Dragons,  and local teams Wilcannia Boomerangs, Menindee Yabbies, Geebungs and the Saints.

Outback Rugby League Chairman, Dave Gallagher, described the inter-league competition as a “fantastic thing”.

“Especially for the teams, it gives them a different outlook and they stop playing the same teams,” he said.

Mr Gallagher said the Sunraysia teams are very strong and when the teams played last week, only the Menindee Yabbies were able to win a game.

He said he hoped the local teams would fare a little better on their home turf, and encouraged as many locals as possible to come along and show their support.

The games will begin at 9am and continue through until 5pm.
