Broken Hill High School has unveiled its new million dollar kitchen.
The industrial kitchen is fitted out with a items including a large commercial mixer, industrial ovens and a coffee machine.
School principal, Geoff Webb, said the new kitchen was a part of the school’s trade training centre and hospitality course.
“Hospitality is very popular,” Mr Webb said.
The class now has 15 students enrolled, many of whom would move on after year 11, Mr Webb said.
“We have very few in year 12 at all because they’ve picked up jobs and traineeships,” he said.
The kitchen is also used for cooking classes for students from schools such as Menindee Central School via video conference.
Mr Webb said the school also plans to install a staff bistro in a room next to the kitchen.
