Motorbike rider hurt in collision with ‘roo

A motorcyclist broke his leg after colliding with a kangaroo on the Tibooburra road yesterday morning.
Police said the 44-year-old local man was about 35 kilometres from Broken Hill when the kangaroo jumped into his bike, knocking him to the ground.
Ambulance officers treated the man at the scene before taking him to the local hospital.
A police spokesman said yesterday the man had suffered a broken tibia and fibula.
Flat smashed up
All of the windows in a vacant flat were broken yesterday, reportedly by a young man wielding a hammer.
Police were called to a block of flats in Creedon Street about 10.45am and found the windows smashed and holes punched into the walls.
They said they had a juvenile suspect whom they intended to interview today
A 30-year-old man was charged with offensive conduct and assaulting police after he allegedly shaped up to officers on Friday night.
Police said the man became aggressive after he was stopped by two female officers as he was walking in Oxide Street about 10.45pm.
A police spokesman said yesterday that the man took up a boxing stance and challenged the officers who responded by firing capsicum spray at him.
He was arrested and taken to the police station where he was refused due to his intoxicated state, according to the police spokesman.
Man punches window
Police will question a 22-year-old man after he allegedly broke a shop window on Saturday night.
Witnesses told police they saw the man punch the window at CP Peoples Chemist, smashing it, and then run away.
He had earlier been refused entry into the Night Train disco, the police said .
They said the window of another business in Oxide Street was also smashed on Friday night.
