Anyone who loves cabaret and jazz can treat themselves to a live show that will be held in the city next month.

The Red Light Cabaret Club show is a jazz-style cabaret with singers, dancers and musicians.

It will feature songs from a range of artists such as Lady Gaga, Frank Sinatra and Christina Aguilera.

The cabaret will be performed at the Whitehouse Convention Centre on the first weekend of September and will run over two nights - Friday, September 2 and Saturday, September 3.

The show is being presented by Floorshow, a new local dance studio. Floorshow offers non-competitive dance classes for children and also a bi-weekly adult performance class.

Teacher Amy Clifford said her adult class had been working on the show since May.

“There will be breath-taking costumes, original routines, live band and, hopefully, an incredible atmosphere,” she said.

“We have a cast of over 20 local performers who will come together under one roof to bring you what we think will be the show of the year.

“We are really happy and excited with the way the show is coming together.”

Amy said she has had “some truly amazing support” from local business that have donated goods for raffles for both shows or have helped with advertising.

She said she had wanted to do a cabaret with a live band and musicians for a long time.

“I’ve always wanted to do a show like this and I am really lucky to have received the support I have, especially from one person in particular, Gary  Bowden, who has been like a mentor through the whole process,” she said.

Tickets are available from G.B Records at $55 per head, which includes champagne and a buffet.

“All guests will be offered a Champagne cocktail (or mocktail for the designated driver) on arrival,” Amy said.

“During the interval there will be a finger food buffet being served for supper and during the second half of the show our audience will be able to enjoy dessert.”

Amy said all of the performers and musicians have been working really hard to get the show together.

“With our lively cast we expect this to be a huge show with amazing atmosphere and we encourage everyone to get in and get tickets,” she said.

“This will be a show not to be missed and hopefully many, many more of its kind will follow.”
