The magnetic lure of Broken Hill and its family-friendly lifestyle has captured more hearts.

After just 12 months’ absence from the city, Dr Mark Byrne and his family have deserted the Gold Coast and returned to BH to again enjoy the laidback country environment they enjoyed so much for the previous seven years.

“We all missed Broken Hill terribly and couldn’t wait to get back here to be amongst family and friends,” Dr Byrne’s wife Charmaine said.

“The girls really missed their school friends and Mark and I feel so at home in Broken Hill that it just made sense to move back here and be happier,” she added.

The Byrne family’s decision to return to BH is good news for the community as it will swell the number of doctors available and deliver some new expertise.

Dr Byrne will not only be providing a general practice, but will also offer specialist services in cosmetic and anti-ageing solutions.

“Mark is also keen to bring other doctors to Broken Hill to expand the practice in the future,” Mrs Byrne said.

Mainstreet Medical Family Practice & Cosmetic Solutions will operate from 427 Argent Street (opposite the Regional Art Gallery) and could become a family affair when Dr Byrne’s eldest daughter Jess completes her nursing degree.
