More claims of dud cheques
Friday, 2nd September, 2011
Police said yesterday that two more people had come forward claiming to be victims of a woman who had already been charged with passing three fraudulent cheques.
The business owners took cheques from a female customer in mid to late August in exchange for goods and money, police said.
A 28-year-old woman was arrested at her home in Bathurst Street on Monday morning after she allegedly used three cheques to purchase a car, alcohol and other goods.
Police said their inquiries were continuing and again called for any person or business who had fallen victim to a similar offence to contact the police station.
