Learn to make a Pueblo pot
Thursday, 8th September, 2011
Children are being invited to find themselves an adult to bring along to a new workshop where both will learn how to make a native American Pueblo-style pot.
Run by the BH Potters Society, the workshop will be conducted over three consecutive Sundays, starting this weekend, at the BH Regional Art Gallery.
In the first week participants will build their pots out of clay, and in the second and third weeks the pots will be decorated using black and white slips.
Pueblo pots are distinctive terracotta pots, decorated with black and white geometric patterns and animals traditionally made by the Native Americans of New Mexico and Arizona.
The workshop will run from 10am to 1pm and costs $120 for both child and adult, or $110 for gallery members/concession.
Bookings are essential and places are limited to eight pairs of participants. For more information contact the Regional Art Gallery on 8080 3440.
