Ban for brawlers

The fall-out from a grand final stoush between North’s Tom Billings and South’s Jayson Higgins will be felt by both clubs next season, with the pair offered a one match suspension.
The second quarter clash left Higgins with a bloodied nose and saw both players given a red card, incurring an automatic report.
The players were initially given a two-match ban by the Broken Hill Football League, but that penalty was reduced to one match due to their good records at the tribunal.
Meanwhile, in the reserve grade, Ayrton Walker was offered a two-match suspension for undue rough play after he allegedly charged a South trainer.
Neither club had appealed the suspensions as of yesterday afternoon.
