Auskickers get on the big stage

Thursday, 15th September, 2011

Not only were the Bulldogs thrilled with their success at the BH Football League grand final last weekend, but a number of junior stars (pictured above) also got a kick out of being involved with the official presentations.

For the first time the BHFL had junior Auskick players present the premiership medallions to the winning team and the exercise was such a success the league intends making it a grand final tradition.

“The AFL uses a similar process at its grand final every year so we decided to try it here and we were very happy with the reaction,” a spokesman for the BHFL said.

“The juniors were named individually and seemed genuinely excited to be a part of the presentation and it certainly added to the occasion.

“The parents were also thrilled to see their children involved and it will now become a regular feature of our grand final day,” the spokesman added.
