Have a shop and help the kiddies

Thursday, 3rd November, 2011

People who want to get an early start on their Christmas shopping or score a bargain should have a look at the BH Resource and Toy Library’s market day and car boot sale this weekend.

It will take place on Saturday from 9am to noon and stalls from various local businesses will be inside the library’s Piper Street hall. The car boot sale will he held in the car park.

Clothing and jewellery, kids’ hair accessories, craft, dress-making fabric, gifts and toys, cake and more will be available for sale.

People can also enjoy a sausage while rummaging through the car boots.

Toy Library President, Rebecca Pearce, said that the fundraiser was important to “keep our resources up to date and, basically, keep our doors open.”

The money raised will go towards fixing the floor in the hall, an expensive job which Ms Pearce said needed to be done by the end of the year.

She urged the public to get behind the event so that the Toy Library’s membership costs could be kept “really low”.

Anyone interested in being part of the car boot sale is invited to call the Toy Library on 8088 5724.
