Marian Bishop has been honoured as an Outstanding Graduating Student by the NSW Far Western Institute of TAFE.

The annual Outstanding Student awards are the most prestigious presented by the Institute and the winners are put in the running for further accolades at State and National level.

Ms Bishop graduated from the local TAFE College last year with a Diploma of Information Technology (Website Development). She studied full time.

She has now commenced, through the University of New England, a double degree Bachelor of Computing Science/Bachelor of Law which she is studying via distance education.

Ms Bishop said an interest in computers and websites prompted her to begin studying. She was surprised to be nominated for the award by her teacher, Alison Burt, and very happy to win.

She is now employed by Bobos Engineering and is producing their website.

Local TAFE Campus Manager, Phil Cvirn, said he was continually impressed with students' abilities. "I am extremely pleased at the calibre of students. This is the third year running we have had a category winner from the Institute.

"I am impressed with the skills and abilities of staff that can facilitate these continued successes."
