More people may soon be charged in relation to the savage murder of man in his home on Good Friday.
Acting on information received from a number of suspects, local police yesterday searched a property about 15 kilometres from the city.
They were looking for items, including a firearm and ammunition, which they said might be related to the murder of Frederick Doldissen on March 21.
Mr Doldissen (61) was attacked outside his Morgan Lane home in the early hours of the morning, stabbed with a sword and a knife and dragged inside the house which was then set alight.
Two men, Ryan Gurney (27) and Aaron John Willetts (37), have been charged with his murder and are in custody.
They are due to appear in the Local Court on Tuesday via video link from jail.
Yesterday Sergeant Nick Weyland said that local detectives from Strike Force Rulwalla, which was established to investigate the murder, had on Wednesday interviewed more people suspected of being involved.
"They may have assisted the two persons charged, either before or after the murder occurred," said Sgt Weyland.
"Following the interview of additional suspects and the information obtained, we are confident of further arrests in the near future," he said.
About 9.30am yesterday police, along with members of the local State Emergency Service, conducted a line search of a property on the Silverton Road.
They covered about 200 square metres and used metal detectors to try and locate items that may have been used in the murder, Sgt Weyland said.
The knife and the Samurai sword were recovered on the day of the murder but yesterday nothing was found and Sgt Weyland issued an appeal to members of the public to come forward with any information that might help the investigation.
If anyone has information that can assist police they are asked to call the police station on 8087 0299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
