Driver's grape escape
Friday, 11th January, 2008
Pallet loads of Menindee grapes spilled onto the road yesterday when a truck overturned about 13 kilometres from Broken Hill.
The 29-year-old driver was taken to hospital suffering cuts and bruises and could be charged with negligent driving, police said.
The accident happened as the truck was travelling towards the city just before 2pm and the Menindee road was closed to traffic for a short time as police, the fire brigade, the ambulance and the State Emergency Service attended the scene.
