People looking at buying presents this Christmas will have a little extra to choose from this weekend.

Pottery, egg artistry, folk art, patchwork, jewellery, China painting and various handicrafts will all be on sale at the annual Pottery ‘N’ Craft Christmas Fair.

The fair was first held in 2007, and the Potters Society’s Vicki Sladden said it had always remained popular.

“This is a chance for people to buy Christmas presents at a very reasonable price,” Mrs Sladden said.

“They’re all unique and all made by local people.”

Last year’s fair attracted about 800 people.

“But the one before that we have nearly twice that,” Mrs Sladden said.

“Along with Mother’s Day, these are our only two fairs for the whole year.”

Homemade cakes, biscuits, jams, quondong pies and decorated cakes will also be available.

The fair runs from 8am to 4pm on Saturday, and 9am to 3pm on Sunday at the pottery rooms at 407 Wyman Street.
