South Rotary is looking forward to its 19th year of organising the city’s Christmas pageant.

A spokesman for the club said it will be running the parade as usual and, of course, hosting Father Christmas on a float while local event management group, Middlemen, will look after the party in Sturt Park.

He said South Rotary will follow the same pattern that they have used for 18 years.

“The route will stay the same, there will be little organisation needed. We just need a lot of floats,” he said.

“We have had a few inquiries but over the next couple of weeks we expect a big influx.”

The spokesman said normally the pageant would get around 50 or 60 floats, but South Rotary would like to see even more than that.

“We would like more, it is a pretty big event,” he said.

“It is great for kids and it is a nice evening in the park with family, friends and relatives. It is a real family day.”

The pageant will be held on December 3 and anyone interested in registering a float can visit Council’s Administration Centre or Middlemen at 409 Argent Street.
