Broken Hill has a new option for breakfast that will leave the cereal, toast and bacon and eggs behind.

On Saturday connoisseurs of a fine “brunch” will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal, along with the great views from the Line of Lode, from 9am to 11.30am at the Broken Earth Cafe Restaurant.

The occasion is to launch the brunch menu at Broken Earth which will be available every Saturday and Sunday.

Head Chef, Katie Clifford, has developed a menu that has never before been seen in Broken Hill and one that offers diners a selection of items that, she said, will stimulate the pallet and satisfy a diversity of cravings.

“We didn’t want to design just another brunch menu but do something very special,” Katie said.

“There’s a range of menu items with a wide selection of flavours which we hope will mean there’s something for everyone.”

Owner of the restaurant, John Groenendijk, said their target market was anyone who enjoyed a brunch or a late breakfast.

On the menu are delights such as crispy potato rosti with smoked salmon, poached egg, wilted baby spinach and ver juice hollandaise, or blueberry and ricotta pancakes served with lemon curd and double thick cream.

“We’ve aimed to offer something completely different and I think we succeeded,” Mr Groenendijk said.

“It’s just the thing to ensure an amazing start to the day.
