RUN’S IN THE FAMILY: Melissa Keenan from Alma Primary School met up with her second cousin Ulysses Club member Vince Keenan when he came to collect presents for the Toy Run yesterday.

The Broken Hill Ulysses Club visited primary schools yesterday to pick up their presents for its Toy Run today.

It was great for the kids at Railwaytown, Morgan Street, North and Alma primary schools who donated the gifts because they got to climb aboard the big, flash motorbikes.

Vince Keenan from the Ulysses Club said the toys they collected on the run were in turn donated to Lifeline for distribution.

The Toy Run starts at Centro Westside and ends in the Patton Street Park around 11.30am.

“There will be a free barbecue and another chance to look at the bikes and give presents,” Mr Keenan said.

He said the run has been going for about 10 years.

“It has been fantastic every year and it is getting better and better. The schools have come on board and it has been going really good,” he said.

Mr Keenan said the North Primary School P and C donated $500 worth of gifts and the Ys Men’s Club gave $1000 worth of gifts to the run.

About 120 bikes are expected on the run and riders are being asked to assemble at Centro at 9.30am to be ready to leave in a convoy at 10am to collect more presents.
